How do you feel when you talk with someone who ignores what you say and continues to talk about their own interests? What about when someone keeps interrupting you before you have finished what you were trying to say?

Children can feel like this when we do not respond to their attempts to communicate with us.  It’s like leaving them stuck on the end of the see-saw. But we call can…

Stop what we are doing- it can wait.

Take the time to listen -they won’t wait.

Observe closely to fully understand them

Patiently respond … and keep this ‘see-saw’ going for as many turns as you can.
